Hi folks
We have a few updates regarding students who test positive (especially using at-home tests) and how that will be handled in the attendance protocols for the district.
Please make every effort to keep students home if they are displaying signs of being ill (COVID - related or otherwise).
Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 regardless of vaccination status:
Quarantine for 5 days after symptom onset or after the date of the positive test.
Individuals MUST provide the school nurse with a laboratory confirmed rapid or PCR test - or a doctor’s note specifying the student is positive for COVID-19.
With Covid-19 proof provided to the school nurse - remote instruction will be provided by staff via virtual instruction and/or Google Classroom assignments.
After 5 days, individuals who have no symptoms, or improved symptoms, including no fever without fever reducing medication, can return to school.
Days 6-10 from symptom onset or positive test, students must wear a mask while in school.
Students who test with an AT-HOME TEST must confirm test results with their doctor, lab or other local medical provider.
Remote Instruction:
According to state guidelines, remote virtual instruction can ONLY be offered to students who are required to quarantine as a result of testing positive for COVID-19.
A laboratory confirmed positive rapid or PCR test must be submitted to the school nurse before remote instruction can begin. Positive home tests results will NOT be accepted.
Remote assignments and instruction may be provided via virtual instruction and/or Google Classroom and may vary from one instructor to another based on the nature of the class.
Please contact your school with any questions.
Thank you
